Bio

Since my youth, I've been involved in sports. Playing tennis as a child led to hiking and backpacking throughout four western states. At this stage in life, I spend free time reading nonfiction and memoirs, attending yoga at the downtown YMCA, and enjoying being with friends.

My spirit is lifted anytime I'm volunteering. Whether that's at Pike Peaks Hospice as a visitor to those who have requested companionship, or by engaging with seniors nationwide through the Well Connected program. Although my family still lives in California where I grew up, I stay in touch with all four generations of my family and former neighbors in my small town.

Martha's Food For Thought

For a satisfyingly thick dairy-free soup, use cashew cream. Soak one cup of raw cashews in water for 6-8 hours. Drain and rinse, then blend with 3/4 cup water until smooth.
